    ONLY 2nd SA FOUNDER LION EVER
    TO BE APPOINTED "PRESIDENT EMERITUS"
    On Wednesday, 18 January at it's regular meeting, the San Antonio Founder Lions Club was graced by Lion Henry Simm's annual Birthday gift of a dollar amount equal to the number of years this world has been fortunate enough to be his witness......94! In response, the club had a surprise or two of it's own. First, in honor of Lion Henry's incredible contributions to the Founder Lions and Lions International, the President and Board conferred upon Lion Henry Simms the designation of "President Emeritus" thus making Lion Henry only the second member of our club to hold such title (W.G. Higgins was president from 1921 - 1927 and was bestowed the title of President Emeritus in the 1930's). In further recognition and appreciation, Lion Henry Simms has been immortalized in his own $94 Dollar Bill with on it's back, the images of current Founder Lions President Rod Chisholm, along with the Founder and First President of Lions International, Dr. William Perry Woods, and then the Secretary General Emeritus of Lions International, Melvin Jones.
    Flanked by LION President ROD CHISHOLM (L) and LION Past President MIKE GONZALEZ, LION HENRY SIMMS receives his President Emeritus Plaque. Lion Mike Gonzalez had a surprise of his own for Lions Henry in the form of a personal donation to the club that matched his own years in U.S. $1 Presidential Gold Coins. You might say Lion Mike has the "Golden Touch"! Lion Mike's generous contribution was further complimented by member donations in Presidential Gold Coins that brought the total to, you guessed it, another $94.00. Who knew!
