The impact of this single club on San Antonio, Texas, and the World has been remarkable. Not only are numerous past Presidents of Lions International members or Associate members of the San Antonio Founder Lions Club, but as part of the early International movement, we initiated Lionism in Mexico by chartering Clubs in Mexico City and Monterrey. In Texas, we’ve contributed significantly to the establishment, and for over 50 years, the annual operation of a summer camp for handicapped children in Kerrville. In San Antonio our contributions have been almost too numerous to count but are highlighted by the funding and establishment of the William Judson Center at the San Antonio Lighthouse for the blind, the donation of Lions Field to the City, and, working with the Ad Club, the creation of the Better Business Bureau of San Antonio.

The World’s Oldest Lions Club is seeking to become the most “International” Lions Club in Texas.

If you are of an International Cultural or heritage, we want you to consider becoming a Lion. Help us to help the members of San Antonio’s International community serve our collective communities through Lionism.

Community Leadership

In addition to being a highly “social” organization, we raise funds through a variety of interesting and charitable projects and with the funds we raise, we contribute substantially to the betterment of so many others. We Serve, you can too.

95 Years of Corporate Affiliations

The Founder Lions Club’s membership roll, with names like McCreless, Judson, O’Krent, Nail, Oppenheimer, Sadovsky, Cavendar, Able, Terrell and Baird, to name but a few, reads like a Who’s Who of San Antonio. The service of these and so many more business leaders and their representatives, through lionism, is a legacy of which we are most proud.
