The Founder Lions have always had a particular fondness for anything
that speaks to support of the Texas Lions Camp. Each summer, the Founder
Lions pay a special trip to the Camp for the purpose of serving up a
meal to the campers and attending a weekly graduation ceremony.

All past or present board members or staff, Lions Jack Costello,
Maeve Reddin, Chuck Beaver, Selig Frank, Janice Wolf and Roland Keller
flank Mike Gilliam, CEO of the
San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind. The
lighthouse was founded over 75 years ago by Lion Dr. Henry Wyneken of
the Founder Lions.
Lion President Ken Crowder and Bruce Hooper, four time US Blind
Golfers Association National Champion, visit at a display to recognize
the Founder Lions Club, The San Antonio Lighthhouse and the upcoming
USBGA 64th National Championship and “Fore the Blind” Charity Scramble
to be held in San Antonio in 2009 to benefit the Lighthouse
rehabilitation, vocational training, job placement, and Seniors programs
for the blind and severely visually impaired of San Antonio.

to 2008, the Founder Lions Club managed the only used eyeglass clinic in
the San Antonio environs.
